Schwetzingen Palace Gardens

Elector Karl Theodor’s park with a Baroque part, a landscape part and a mosque as a garden pavilion.
Karl Theodor had Nicolas de Pigage lay out a Baroque garden around the summer palace, and it was later extended with a landscape park by Sckell. The mosque of the 1780s is an ornamental building in the garden.
The park is an example of how the formal Baroque garden and the English landscape park could be combined in the same place.
