Tricorne

The cocked felt hat with three points worn by gentlemen, soldiers and sailors in the 18th century.
The tricorne was the most common man’s hat of the 18th century and went with the uniforms. During the Revolution it was replaced by the bicorne. Examples are in the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal Armoury in Stockholm.

Manufacture: A round-brimmed felt hat whose brim was turned up on three sides and fixed with buttons or cords.
The brim turned up on three sides so that one point faces forward.
