A Renaissance garden in Bagnaia in which the water runs down through the garden from the spring to the fountain.

Cardinal Gambara had Vignola arrange the garden as a story of water. It begins as a spring in the woods, runs through channels and stairs and ends in a large fountain with four figures.

Villa Lante is counted among the finest Renaissance gardens. The water governs the whole composition, from the top to the basins.

Materials: Terraces, water stair, fountains, clipped box and plane trees

Manufacture: Laid out from 1566 for Cardinal Gianfrancesco Gambara in Bagnaia near Viterbo.

The water chain, a channel in the shape of a crayfish running down the stair.

The two pavilions on either side.
