Eldorado
Zuber’s panoramic wallpaper with a tropical forest and waterfalls, printed with woodblocks.
Eldorado is one of Zuber’s great panoramic wallpapers. It shows a dream of a tropical world, with palms, waterfalls and animals in clear colours.
The wallpaper was printed with very large sets of woodblocks and is a high point of the craft of wallpaper printing in France.
Materials: Distemper on paper, printed with woodblocks
Manufacture: Printed by hand by Jean Zuber & Cie in Rixheim in Alsace in 1848.
The dense tropical forest.
