Bialetti

Alfonso Bialetti’s workshop in Crusinallo; the Moka Express coffee maker (1933) in octagonal aluminium.

Alfonso Bialetti had worked in the aluminium industry in France before opening his workshop in Crusinallo near Omegna. The Moka Express was developed in the early 1930s and made it possible to brew strong coffee on the stove.

His son Renato Bialetti invested after the war in mass production and advertising, and the little man with the moustache became the brand's symbol. The Moka Express has been made in hundreds of millions.
