Brio
Founded by the basket maker Ivar Bengtsson in Osby; the name stands for Bröderna Ivarsson Osby. The wooden railway came in 1958.
Ivar Bengtsson sold baskets and toys that he bought in, and his sons took over and began making their own wooden toys in Osby. After the Second World War Brio concentrated on toys for the youngest children.
The wooden railway of 1958 was extended with track, bridges and wagons that fitted together, and the system has since been copied by other makers. Brio became part of Swedish children's culture and has been owned by Germany's Ravensburger since 2015.
Brio stamped or printed on the toy; older track without magnets.
