JBL
James B. Lansing’s loudspeaker firm in California; studio monitors and furniture speakers such as the Paragon and Hartsfield.
James B. Lansing was a sound engineer who had built loudspeakers for Hollywood cinemas before starting JBL. The loudspeakers became a standard in studios and at concerts.
The Paragon of 1957 was a large stereo loudspeaker shaped like a piece of furniture, and the L100 of 1970 became a best seller. JBL is now part of Harman.
