Ping

Karsten Solheim’s golf company in Phoenix; putters and irons weighted at the ends.

Karsten Solheim was an engineer at General Electric who began making putters in his garage. The name came from the sound when the ball struck the putter's blade.

The Anser putter of 1966 became one of the most copied, and cast irons with the weight distributed towards the edge made the game easier. Ping is still family-owned.
