Technics

Matsushita’s hi-fi brand; direct-drive turntables such as the SL-1200.

Technics was the hi-fi brand of Matsushita, now Panasonic. The name was first used for a loudspeaker and then became a brand of its own.

The SL-1200 turntable of 1972 had direct drive and became the standard for DJs in clubs all over the world. The brand survives within Panasonic.
