The first direct-drive turntable for radio and recording studios.

The SP-10 was a turntable without a tone arm for professional use, with direct drive. The motor drives the platter directly without a belt or wheel, giving steady running.

It became common in radio stations and later in home studios. The SL-1200 was built on the same technology.

Materials: Cast metal, aluminium platter, direct drive

Manufacture: Made by Matsushita under the Technics brand in Japan from 1970.

The heavy, round metal chassis.

The platter with strobe pattern.

No tone arm – the deck is sold without.
