Tetra Pak

Packaging company in Lund, founded within Åkerlund & Rausing; the tetrahedron (1952) and the Tetra Brik (1963).

Ruben Rausing and Erik Wallenberg developed a milk package of paper with plastic that could be filled and sealed without air. The tetrahedron was launched for milk in Lund in 1952.

The Tetra Brik of 1963, a rectangular package, was easier to stack and transport. Tetra Pak became a world-leading maker of food packaging.
