Tiffany Studios

Louis Comfort Tiffany’s workshops in New York, known for lamps with leaded-glass shades, stained-glass windows and Favrile glass.

Louis Comfort Tiffany, son of Charles Lewis Tiffany, was a painter before he began working with glass. He developed Favrile glass with iridescent surfaces and started workshops for windows and lamps.

The lamps with shades of leaded glass, such as Dragonfly and Wisteria, were made by the workshop's women craftworkers, among them Clara Driscoll. The workshops closed in 1932.

The stamp TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK and model numbers on the base; shades have a stamped tag or a stamp on the rim.
