Earl Tupper’s company with polyethylene containers and airtight lids; sold at home parties developed by Brownie Wise.

Earl Tupper was a chemist who worked for DuPont before he began making containers of polyethylene. The lid that sealed airtight with a press was his invention.

Brownie Wise developed sales at home parties, which gave many women an income of their own. Tupperware became a household name but went bankrupt in 2024.

Tupperware moulded under the base together with a model number.
