French painter who early on made posters and lithographs in a Japanese spirit.

Pierre Bonnard belonged to the Nabis and had his breakthrough with the France-Champagne poster in 1891.

He later became one of the great colourists of the 20th century, but his early prints influenced Toulouse-Lautrec.
