Ludwig Hohlwein
Poster artist
German poster artist from Munich with bold fields of colour, pattern and sharp light.
Ludwig Hohlwein trained as an architect and became one of the most sought-after poster artists in Germany after 1906.
His posters for tailors, coffee and the zoo shaped European advertising; he later also worked for the Nazi regime.
