Louis Majorelle
Cabinetmaker
The leading furniture maker of the School of Nancy, with plant marquetry and gilt-bronze mounts.
Louis Majorelle took over his father’s furniture works in Nancy and turned to Art Nouveau in the 1890s under the influence of Émile Gallé.
His furniture with water lilies and orchids in bronze and marquetry was made in large series in his own factory.
