William Moorcroft

Potter

English potter who made vases decorated with raised lines of slip, tube-lining.

William Moorcroft began as a designer at James Macintyre & Co. in Burslem in 1897 and created the Florian ware range.

In 1913 he opened his own factory with the backing of Liberty, and his name lives on in the works at Stoke-on-Trent.
