Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann
Cabinetmaker and decorator
The leading Art Deco cabinetmaker, with furniture in rare woods, ivory and shagreen.
Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann took over his father’s decorating firm in Paris and began to design furniture made in his own workshop.
His pavilion at the 1925 Paris exhibition made him the foremost furniture designer of Art Deco.
