Adidas Superstar

The leather basketball shoe with a rubber shell toe that hip-hop made its own.
The Superstar came in 1969 as a leather basketball shoe with a hard rubber toe to protect against knocks. It soon became common among basketball players in the USA.
The hip-hop group Run-DMC wore the shoe without laces in the 1980s and rapped about it in 1986. After that it became a symbol of street fashion.
