Ambre Antique
Lalique’s bottle for Coty with four women in classical dress in relief.
After L’Effleurt Lalique made several bottles for Coty. Ambre Antique showed women in classical dress, as on a Greek vase, in matt glass.
The bottle shows Lalique’s move from Art Nouveau jewellery to glass and how antiquity inspired him. It was made in large numbers and sold all over the world.
Materials: Pressed glass, matt and polished, with patina
Manufacture: Designed by René Lalique for Coty around 1910.
The female figures in relief around the bottle.
The matt glass with brown patina in the recesses.
The stopper with leaves.
