Citroën Traction Avant

A low car with front-wheel drive and a monocoque body, far ahead of its time.
Traction Avant means front-wheel drive. Without a propeller shaft the car could be made low, and the monocoque body made it light and strong. It cost so much to develop that Citroën went bankrupt and was taken over by Michelin.
Materials: Steel body without a separate chassis; four-cylinder engine
Manufacture: Made in Paris from 1934 to 1957.
