Dans la Nuit

René Lalique’s blue glass globe with stars for the House of Worth’s perfume – the night sky in a bottle.

The House of Worth launched the perfume Dans la Nuit, in the night, in 1924, and René Lalique designed the bottle as a blue globe with stars. Lalique made several bottles for Worth, all on the same theme of night and sky.

The bottle was pressed in a mould, which made it possible to produce art glass in large editions. It is one of Art Deco’s best-known examples of how the bottle became as important as the scent.
