Gallé scent bottle
The Art Nouveau bottle of cameo glass with plants etched out of the glass layers.
Émile Gallé in Nancy made glass with motifs from nature, which he etched out of layers of different colours. His scent bottles were small works of art for the dressing table.
Gallé was one of the leaders of Art Nouveau in France. His glassworks continued after his death in 1904, and the Gallé signature appears on thousands of objects.
