Klipschorn

The corner loudspeaker that uses the walls of the room as part of the horn.

Paul Klipsch was an engineer who built loudspeakers in a tin shed in Arkansas. His corner speaker was a horn: the sound is led through an ever-widening channel, and the room’s two walls and floor become an extension of it.

The horn makes the speaker very efficient, so that a few watts are enough to fill a room. The Klipschorn is one of the loudspeakers made longest in unchanged form.

Materials: Plywood, horns for treble and midrange, bass driver
