Bachelor’s Button
The wallpaper with small flowers in rows like a simple border.
Bachelor’s Button was designed by William Morris in 1892 and is one of his later, simple patterns. The flowers sit in ordered rows, with less movement than in his earlier wallpapers.
The wallpaper belongs to the later patterns of Morris & Co. and was widespread in English homes at the turn of the century.
Materials: Distemper on paper, printed with woodblocks
Manufacture: Hand-printed with woodblocks by Jeffrey & Co. for Morris & Co.

The plain, light ground.
