Marigold
The wallpaper with yellow marigolds against dark green foliage.
Marigold was designed by William Morris in 1875, the same year as Acanthus and Pimpernel. The pattern has marigolds in yellow and red against dark green foliage.
The wallpaper was printed with woodblocks and is still in use today. It is seen as an example of Morris’s middle period, when he simplified the forms but kept the richness of colour.
