Porsche 917

The racing car that gave Porsche its first victory at Le Mans.

The 917 won Le Mans in 1970 and 1971. Steve McQueen used it in the film Le Mans, and the colours of the sponsor Gulf became classic.

Materials: Aluminium frame, glass-fibre body; twelve-cylinder flat engine

Manufacture: Made in Stuttgart; twenty-five cars were built for it to be homologated.
