Rossignol Strato
The first fibreglass ski, an answer to the metal ski.
Rossignol was a French ski company founded in 1907. With the Strato in 1964 came a fibreglass ski that was lighter and springier than the wooden ski.
The ski was used by racers in the 1960s and spread the fibreglass technique to ordinary skiers. Today’s skis are built on the same principle with layers of different materials.
Materials: Fibreglass and wood, steel edges
Manufacture: Made by Rossignol in Voiron, France, from 1964.
