Braun SK 4

The radio-phonograph with a lid of transparent plastic.
Hans Gugelot and Dieter Rams designed the SK 4 for Braun in 1956. Earlier radio-phonographs were pieces of furniture in dark wood; the SK 4 looked like an appliance.
The transparent lid became standard for record players. The appliance shows the ideals of order and simplicity of Braun and the Ulm school.
