Tudric vase

Liberty’s pewter with Celtic interlace and enamel inlays, designed by Archibald Knox.
From around 1900 the London store Liberty & Co. sold the Cymric range in silver and the Tudric range in pewter. They were factory-made but meant to look handmade.
Archibald Knox designed many of the best-known pieces. His Celtic ornament became Liberty’s hallmark, and the objects show how Arts and Crafts forms could be sold in a department store.
Materials: Pewter, often with enamel or semi-precious stones
Manufacture: Cast in series by W. H. Haseler in Birmingham for Liberty & Co. in London.
Interlacing Celtic bands and stylised leaves in low relief.
