The skaters’ canvas shoe with a waffle sole.

Paul Van Doren, his brother James and two partners opened the first shop in Anaheim in 1966. The shoes were made to order and delivered the same day.

Skateboarders in California began to use the shoe in the 1970s because the sole gave good grip on the board. Since then Vans has been one of skateboarding’s brands.

Materials: Canvas, rubber sole with a waffle pattern
