The small blue bottle with white reliefs in the classical style.

Josiah Wedgwood developed jasperware in the 1770s, a fine-grained stoneware that can be coloured, often blue with white relief. He also made small objects such as scent bottles, buttons and jewellery.

The decoration took its models from antiquity and made Wedgwood known for the Neoclassical style in England.
