Bose
American audio company, known for reflected sound and noise-cancelling headphones.
Amar Bose, a professor at MIT, founded the Bose Corporation in 1964 in Massachusetts. He wanted to build speakers that sounded like live music in a concert hall, with a lot of reflected sound.
The company became known for the Bose 901 and for the Wave Radio. The QuietComfort of 2000 made noise-cancelling headphones a product for ordinary travellers.
