Märta Måås-Fjetterström
Textile artist
Swedish textile artist who renewed the rug with motifs from Scanian folk art and nature.
Märta Måås-Fjetterström worked for the Malmö county handicraft society and elsewhere before opening her own weaving workshop in Båstad in 1919.
Her rugs in flat-weave and pile, with names such as Bruna heden (the brown heath), built on folk techniques but had modern, stylised patterns. The workshop continued after her death.
