Dragonfly lamp

The Tiffany Studios lamp with dragonflies flying round the lower edge of the shade.
The lamp was designed by Clara Driscoll and shown at the Paris Exposition of 1900. Made in many versions, it is one of the most copied lamps there is. Originals are in the Morse Museum in Winter Park and the Metropolitan Museum.
Materials: Favrile glass, copper-foiled, bronze
Manufacture: Hundreds of pieces of coloured glass were wrapped in copper foil and soldered together over a form; the base was cast in bronze.
The dragonflies with wings of golden veined glass round the rim.
The bronze base stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK with a model number.
