Parker

George Safford Parker’s company in Janesville, Wisconsin; the Duofold (1921), Parker 51 (1941) and Jotter (1954) are the classics.

George Safford Parker was a teacher of telegraphy in Janesville, Wisconsin, and sold pens to his students. He developed a fountain pen that did not leak and started the Parker Pen Company.

The orange Duofold of 1921 was called the Big Red. The Parker 51 of 1941, with a hooded nib, and the Jotter ballpoint of 1954 became classics. Parker is now owned by Newell Brands and manufactures in France.
